Whether in Germany or already in your home country: A language course is an effective way of learning German. In Germany, language courses are offered at all levels for beginners and very advanced learners. The language course provider can use a test to determine which language level you are starting.
When organizing language courses, the providers in Germany orient themselves towards the so-called Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (GER). It defines the following levels of language proficiency:
*Levels A1 and A2: Here, you will learn the basics of the German language. If you have no previous
knowledge, you should attend an A1 course.
*Levels B1 and B2: You learn German at an advanced level. You will expand your language skills, and after completing level B2, you will be able to communicate independently and differently in everyday life and work.
* Levels C1 and C2: You learn German at the highest language level. At the end of these courses, you will have a command of German almost as well as people who grew up with the language.
You will learn to speak, understand, read, and write German in the courses. Of course, you will always learn a lot about the country and people in Germany.
