The importance of research and development for German companies is shown by the increasing number of employees in these departments: In 2012 there were 367,000 full-time positions in corporate research and development – that is 10,000 more than in 2011. And this trend is likely to continue. That is why international scientists have good prospects of finding a job in German companies. Specialists are particularly in demand in areas where there are too few qualified applicants in Germany. This includes engineers and IT specialists.
